2017 TECA Conference Highlights: Building 2e Awareness & Community

(For information on the 2018 Conference, click here.)

Thank you to everyone who helped make TECA’s 2017 Building 2e Awareness & Community Conference a huge success! We were delighted to welcome the 125 parents and professionals who joined us for the day.

Our keynote speaker, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Katherine Ellison, gave a deeply thoughtful and inspiring talk about how important it is to stick by your child’s side through the good, the bad and sometimes hilarious, demonstrating how empathy for yourself and your child is the key to surviving and thriving when the challenges before you seem insurmountable.

This year’s conference presented over 20 breakout sessions for attendees to choose from. Our presenters and panelists were wonderful, providing guests with an in-depth understanding of the issues 2e children and families face, practical tools and strategies for addressing a variety of challenges, and the embrace of a growing community that understands, supports and celebrates our children and families.
